MedLink has been selected by SunCoast Health Partners to deploy the MedLink Regional Health Information Organization Financial Stability Model. A healthcare IT company, MedLink provides the medical community with products and services designed to help create, manage and share medical information.
According to Ray Vuono, president of MedLink, the venture between MedLink and SunCoast will provide affordable health information technology solutions to participants. At the same time, financial benefits will be provided to support the adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHR). The agreement is significant for MedLink as the healthcare practices are expected to generate sales of more than $4 million in the first year and over $7 million over the subsequent four years.
SunCoast Health Partners is a joint venture between the SunCoast RHIO, Inc. and for profit partners who offer services to the healthcare community in the Southwest Region of Florida. The participation by SunCoast will consist of offering products and services to the more than five hundred Healthcare Providers in the SunCoast RHIO covered area of Florida.
Vuono added that MedLink's Clinical Lab Outreach Program will extend the reach of the RHIO through increased participation by giving providers access to additional financial incentives to support their investment in EHR and clinical data exchange. However, the main aim is to provide the SunCoast RHIO health care providers with the clinical data and tools they need to provide the best quality of care to the patients of the SunCoast region while minimizing costs through creative programs, partnerships and technology.
