Healthcare Technology and News: Dalcon wins 2010 Product of the Year Award for Remote Patient Monitoring and Alert Management System

Dalcon Communication Systems, Inc., a supplier of microcomputer-based business systems and software, announced that its product, Dalcon Alert!, was granted Technology Marketing Corporation’s INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine 2009 “Product of the Year” award.

Dalcon has been gaining this recognition for three consecutive years. “We’re proud that Dalcon Alert! has been recognized as an industry leading patient communications solution,” said David Condra, CEO at Dalcon. “Dalcon continues to be committed to providing superior communications solutions in both the business and healthcare arenas.”

Dalcon Alert! is Dalcon’s Remote Patient Monitoring & Alert Management system for hospitals and long-term care facilities.

The system integrates with facility legacy patient monitoring devices, and transmits device alerts remotely to wireless phones or pagers via text message. Device alerts are also sent to a server, where they can be tracked in real time via Dalcon’s Alert Management web browser software. The Alert Management software can be accessed via the browsers of any computer on the facility network.

Interestingly, the alert management server maintains a database of all historic alerts which allows tracking and reporting of all alerts, including alert time and staff response time.

Dalcon officials said that it’s Alert! System can also be used to effectively prevent never events due to patient falls and bed sores.

“INTERNET TELEPHONY is proud to grant Dalcon a 2009 Product of the Year Award for Dalcon Alert!,” Rich Tehrani, chief executive officer at Technology Marketing Company said. “We look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the future.”

Technoloy Marketing Company’s INTERNET TELEPHONY has been offering rich content from solutions-focused editorial content to reviews on products and services from TMC Labs. The magazine reaches more than 225,000 readers, including pass-along readers.
