While health systems across the country are buys deploying various mobility initiatives, few understand the importance of having a robust security system in place to guard their data and infrastructure. The Miami Jewish Health Systems is one such healthcare facility and it has deployed
Motorola‘s HIPAA-compliant end-to-end wireless LAN and AirDefense solutions to protect its network. This deployment will be carried out by
Agilysys, a Motorola Premiere Solution Partner.
Motorola AirDefense Enterprise 7.3 is an endor-agnostic Wireless Intrusion Prevention System. It offers complete protection against wireless threats, policy compliance monitoring, robust performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
To reduce risk of rogue attacks, the AirDefense solution provides around-the-clock proactive system monitoring and creates a safety net over the network. Both enterprise and clinical applications can use Motorola infrastructure to support a variety of handheld medical devices, from mobile computers to VoIP phones.
“Mobility is a key goal for the healthcare industry as it looks for new and cost-effective ways to increase staff productivity, provide more accurate information to improve patient care and reduce overall costs,” said Vivian Funkhouser, principal, Global Healthcare Solutions, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions. “With Motorola’s wireless network solution, Miami Jewish Health Systems has the right infrastructure in place to stay competitive in today’s market.”
To ensure maximum indoor and outdoor wireless coverage, the 802.11n WLAN solution utilizes Motorola’s RFS7000 wireless switches, coupled with dual- and tri-radio AP-7131 and AP-5181 access points. Motorola’s unique tri-radio 802.11n access point allows one radio to be dedicated to security and troubleshooting, while the remaining two radios provide high-speed access.
Recently, the company
teamed up with
Verizon and announced that it is ready to launch Motorola DEVOUR in the month of March. Motorola DEVOUR will be the first Verizon Wireless phone to feature MOTOBLUR, Motorola’s unique Android powered content delivery service created to make wireless phones more personal and customizable. MOTOBLUR offers everything a customer wants in one place, Motorola officials said.
