InterSystems Corporation, which develops innovative database, integration and business intelligence products, has announced reseller agreements with two new InterSystems application partners,
Management Information Tools (MITS) and
LifePoint Informatics.
According to a press release, MITS and LifePoint have partnered to deliver the first MITS Report implementation built on InterSystems’ CACHE Database. This database solution helps medical laboratories provide timely, accurate reporting services to healthcare providers.
InterSystems CACHE is a highly scalable object database for transactional systems. It handles SQL queries faster than relational databases and enables rapid Web application development, say company officials.
LifePoint Informatics provides Web-based, Windows-based, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and lab-hosted physician connectivity systems exclusively to the healthcare industry across the US and Canada.
MITS, which develops and markets Online Analytical Processing and business intelligence solutions, offers its service to LifePoint’s clients to transmit lab test results and related data through SaaS solutions developed and hosted by LifePoint.
These Web-based solutions are built on InterSystems CACHÉ. LifePoint has added MITS Report, an operational and ad hoc reporting solution designed for a wide range of MultiValue and relational databases, to its solution suite.
“LifePoint serves both medical providers and clinical medical laboratories,” said Preston Law, chief technical officer at LifePoint, in a statement. “We’re in the business of exposing test results data, produced by the labs, to the health care providers.”
The service offered by LifePoint enables healthcare providers to quickly get the test results online.
By adding MITS Report capabilities to their offerings, LifePoint also helps labs and providers analyze and report aggregated test data for a variety of reasons ranging from trend analysis to Medicare reimbursement reporting.
Fred Owen, MITS president, said the partnership with LifePoint provides them with significant revenue opportunities.
“This is our first sizable sale involving a CACHÉ-based application,” Owen said in the release. “And, because it will serve a large user base via the SaaS model, we think other CACHÉ users will be very interested in this offering.”
Thousands of companies have deployed CACHE because it provides advanced capabilities for Web-based development along with massive scalability and high-performance transaction processing, Owen added.
“People need reporting and business intelligence solutions for large data volumes, so the substantial CACHÉ installed base represents a significant market for MITS Report,” Owen said.
“InterSystems is very pleased to be working with MITS and LifePoint to make MITS’ advanced reporting capabilities easily accessible within LifePoint’s SaaS solutions,” said Matthew Nee, InterSystems vice president of North American Sales, in a statement.
“InterSystems has strong working partnerships with both companies and it’s gratifying to see them leverage CACHÉ to deliver these innovations within the high-growth SaaS-focused business sector,” Nee added.
In September, InterSystems announced multiple enhancements to its InterSystems Ensemble rapid integration and development platform, which is used to develop and integrate mission-critical applications, leverage previous software investments through composite applications and also to establish an enterprise service bus or SOA infrastructure, HealthTechZone
reported.
