Healthcare Technology and News: RSL Chooses Intelligent InSites for Wireless Nurse Call Solutions

Looking to provide wireless nurse call and resident care solutions, North Carolina-based assisted living operator Resources for Senior Living (RSL) has chosen Intelligent InSites. The system from Intelligent InSites uses information received through wireless pendants wore by the staff and residents and ensures the safety of each resident, says Intelligent InSites.

In their quest to provide improved care to residents, many senior living homes are adopting modern communications technologies. The old nurse call system is being replaced with efficient, affordable technology based nurse calling systems. Apart from improving the efficiency of the nurses, these new technologies can also make the life easier for residents as well.

With Intelligent InSites’ partnership, a resident can simply press a button on a pendant which alerts the staff and notifies them of the resident's current location anywhere in the community. RSL currently has three assisted living residences known as The Laurels and six memory care residences known as The Haven. The system will be implemented in all these residences.

“We are pleased to be able to work with Resources for Senior Living to help them fulfill their goal of offering the best care possible to their communities," said Mark Rheault, President and CEO of Intelligent InSites. “We feel fortunate to have a hand in improving the lives of RSL's staff and residents.”

Intelligent InSites claims that other communities that have adopted its resident solutions have already realized a 25 percent gain in staff productivity, an equivalent of two hours for every employee shift. RSL states that the increased care provided by the new technology is appreciated by the family members of the residents.

In February last year, the company released its flagship real-time location software, the InSites Enterprise Visibility Platform. This release includes advanced location-enabled applications for Emergency Department workflow, OR workflow, Asset Management and Inventory Management, bundled as part of the platform, according to company officials. It also includes tools for hospital IT staff, system integrators, and independent software vendors (ISVs).
