Amimon, a fabless semiconductor company offering wireless uncompressed high-definition video technology,
reportedly has embedded Amimon wireless HD technology in
Stryker Endoscopy’s WiSe HDTV.
The technology is reportedly world’s first HD wireless video display for the operating room.
Stryker Endoscopy, a division of
Stryker Corporation, provides various operating room technologies. The company is known for high-definition visualization for surgeons. Stryker Endoscopy’s products make surgery easier and more efficient, resulting in the improvement of patient outcomes.
The company was reportedly the first entity to combine voice activation, infrared technology and high-definition digital capture and display devices to fully integrate the operating room, the company said.
Amimon has granted Stryker Endoscopy exclusive access to its technology for the medical endoscopy market.
William Chang, Stryker Endoscopy’s vice president of research and development and chief technology officer, said, “Only Amimon’s high-definition wireless technology is capable of transmitting surgical video with no perceptible lag or interference throughout the entire operating room. This will allow surgeons greater flexibility in positioning the surgical display while operating.”
The technology also provides a convenient and cost-effective method of routing DVI cables through the ceilings and overhead booms.
“Amimon’s high-definition wireless technology is gaining strong industry support and is setting the standard for wireless HDTV connectivity,” said Noam Geri, Amimon’s vice president of marketing and business development.
Several major consumer electronics manufacturers are using Amimon’s technology for a variety of CE products.
Headquartered in Herzliya, Israel, Amimon is a founding member of the Wireless Home Digital Interface Special Interest Group formed by CE companies. The group aims to define a new industry standard for multi-room wireless uncompressed HDTV connectivity.
“Amimon is proud to have worked with Stryker Endoscopy in enabling the use of its technology to meet the demanding needs of medical visualization,” Geri said.
Stryker Corporation is a medical technology company with products in orthopedics and a presence in other medical specialties. Stryker’s products include implants used in joint replacement, trauma, craniomaxillofacial and spinal surgeries; biologics; surgical, neurologic, ear, nose & throat and interventional pain equipment; endoscopic, surgical navigation, communications and digital imaging systems; as well as patient handling and emergency medical equipment.
