TriZetto Group Buys Medical Data Express


TriZetto, a provider of healthcare IT software and service solutions, asserted that it has acquired the Medical Data Express (MDE), continuing the expansion of TriZetto’s managed Medicare and managed Medicaid solutions. The acquisition is supposed to help Medicare Advantage and Medicaid payers manage encounter data.

MDE is stated to have assisted many clients streamline the timely reporting of claims (encounter) data to fiscal intermediaries. Its developers and analysts are experts in cleaning and reporting encounter data and have experience with many different system platforms and healthcare industry software solutions.

A proven, established TriZetto partner, MDE supports Medicaid and Medicare plan customers that submit encounter data to more than 35 Medicaid state organizations and is positioned to meet the timelines established by CMS for Medicare Advantage plans.

MDE asserted that it is thrilled to join a recognized healthcare IT industry leader and combining MDE’s encounter data knowledge with TriZetto’s technology-enabled solutions and industry experience will provide payers with a powerful tool for submitting encounter data in an accurate, streamlined and timely manner. In addition to customer on-site implementations, MDE’s automated claims testing tool will be bundled with TriZetto services for smooth migrations and upgrades to TriZetto’s world-class enterprise administration systems.

Officials with TriZetto claimed that by acquiring MDE, TriZetto is cementing its ability to offer customers a proven, comprehensive and reliable solution that helps payer organizations meet federal and state requirements for medical encounter data processing. They are committed to continuing to enhance their suite of solutions helping Medicare and Medicaid plans leverage the efficiencies they gain for strategic advantage while maintaining compliance.

TriZetto added that Medicare Advantage plans will still be able to process RAPs, or risk-adjustment processing, data submissions from its Claims Data Manager application until the RAPs data requirement sunsets.

In other news, QualChoice, an Arkansas-based health services company offering a comprehensive line of health benefit and ancillary products on both a fully insured and self-insured basis, has selected TriZetto’s Clinical CareAdvance 4.7 solution to advance its collaboration with providers, improve clinical outcomes for members and enhance care-related communications with employer customers.
