Teradici, the developer of the PC-over-IP(R) protocol that enables a PC experience for desktop virtualization, recently unveiled a solution developed in collaboration with Imprivata, a leader in access management for healthcare. A combination of Teradici PCoIP Firmware release 3.5.0 and Imprivata OneSign Virtual Desktop Access with VMware View, the solution delivers strong authentication as well as single sign-on access from PCoIP zero clients.

PCoIP zero clients can use the joint solution various types of access cards and ID badges to derive fast and secure access to their roaming desktops from any location with a simple tap of their badge, ensuring lower operational cost, increased security capabilities, a rich user experience and future-proof desktop scalability.

In related news, Teradici, a developer of PC-over-IP or PCoIP protocol for enabling a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, announced the availability of its PCoIP Firmware Release 3.5.0 and PCoIP Management Console 1.7. According to company sources this PCoIP zero client firmware update features support for USB 2.0 with VMware View sessions, Imprivata OneSign Virtual Desktop Access with VMware View, 802.1X security, and IPv6.
