ECRI Offers Free Download of New Infographic on OR Integration

ECRI Institute, a nonprofit organization, combines research with practical experience to identify how healthcare organizations can best improve patient care. To celebrate National Healthcare Resource & Materials Management Week, Oct. 2-8, 2011, ECRI Institute is providing a free download of its new infograpic on OR Integration.

This new Infographic is expected to help materials managers, who want to accelerate the approval process. By implementing OR integration, the process of getting approval from the value analysis teams and executive staff is made less complex.

ECRI's SELECT plus Market Analytics tool helps healthcare organizations examine purchasing trends, actual prices paid and market share based on the data submitted by certain member hospitals. On the basis of this, they can, in consultation with ECRI's staff, procure the best capital equipment that they need.

With so much of expertise and experience under its belt, the ECRI Institute has been designated as an Evidence-based Practice Center by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and is acknowledged to be a federally certified Patient Safety Organization by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

National Healthcare Resource & Materials Management Week is dedicated to acknowledge resource and materials management professionals' outstanding contributions not only to healthcare but to the overall success of the supply chain.

Emphasizing the importance of these professionals in the healthcare industry, Jennifer Myers, ECRI Institute's Vice President of SELECT Health Technology Services, said, "Materials management and supply chain professionals play a key role in delivering quality, cost-effective patient care throughout the healthcare industry.”

In other news, ECRI Institute and the Health Care Improvement Foundation, an independent nonprofit corporation with a multi-dimensional focus on healthcare safety, announced the launch of a new Partnership for Patient Care regional collaborative focused on improving CT  radiation safety.
