RapidFire Tools Releases Network Detective HIPAA Compliance Module

One of the many protections of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is to ensure confidentiality and data integrity for any information that identifies an individual. Any violation of this act is met with swift and expensive punishments by the government and a possible civil lawsuit that could be even more costly. It is therefore essential to have the best available solution in place is your organization needs to be HIPAA compliant. RapidFire Tools Inc., provider of non-invasive IT assessment tools, has created the Network Detective HIPAA Compliance module to provide IT professionals the tools for preparing technical documents associated with the IT security requirements of HIPAA automatically.

This solution is going to save many organizations time, money and the frustration of having to meet the ever changing compliance rules of HIPAA. There are more than 700,000 HIPAA individual organizations that are required by law to conduct a HIPAA Risk Assessment as well as 2,000,000 additional "HIPAA Business Associates" making them subject to HIPAA regulations.

According to the company this is the first product that is purpose-built for IT professionals to make analysis and documentation of HIPAA risk process easier, more thorough and accurate. Anyone covered by the HIPAA mandate is required to prove they have taken the necessary steps to protect the electronic information they possess, and this includes organizations including businesses that maintain or utilize patient information such as billing or insurance agents, lawyers and other professionals.

The Network Detective HIPAA Compliance Module combines automated collection of network data with information collected through observations, photographs and surveys. The software also provides a repository to safely and securely collect all the data along with a built-in HIPAA risk assessment engine to automatically generate official documents with a comprehensive HIPAA IT assessment. This includes HIPAA Policy and Procedures, HIPAA Risk Analysis, HIPAA Management Plan, Evidence of HIPAA Compliance and all of the associated supporting documentation. Additionally, it provides the HIPAA Policy and Procedures Document; the Evidence of HIPAA Policy Compliance Document; the HIPAA Risk Analysis and Management Plan; and the IT Security Exception Worksheet.

"The risk of not performing necessary audits is huge for any covered entity and its business associates. But the opportunity associated with the creation of the compliance documentation is also significant -- especially for MSPs and service providers with clients and prospects in the healthcare vertical," said Michael Mittel, president of RapidFire Tools.

The Network Detective HIPAA Compliance Module is now available for license at an annual subscription of $2,999.
