A New Collaboration Creates Industry Leading Telehealth Solution for Healthcare Providers

As congress continues to argue Obamacare and whether it should continue to be funded, the healthcare industry is trying to improve the way it does business without any government mandate. The size of the healthcare in the US is bigger than the GDP of 185 countries around the world at close to $3 trillion, and the only way to lower the cost of this astronomical figure is to introduce new technologies. Whether it is through improved medical record systems or remote monitoring, technology will be key in harnessing healthcare costs in the US. Telehealth solutions allow providers in the entire ecosystem the ability to manage their operations with speed and efficiency.

Carousel Industries, Polycom and NuPhysicia have partnered to provide industry-leading enterprise-class solution for healthcare providers with a new video-enabled telehealth service. The new platform is called DistribuCare, and it is designed to make caseload management in hospitals, urgent care facilities and retail pharmacies faster and more efficient. Patients will also be able to see their physicians with the same efficiency by integrating the Carousel health expertise, the NuPhysicia's caseload management software and Polycom's enterprise-grade video solutions.

The overall efficiency of this technology means patients are able to see physicians at their convenience without having to travel. Unless it is a critical condition requiring an emergency room visit, patients will be able to be in front of a live doctor through a secure video patient consult. Physicians are available on demand, making top notch healthcare available to anyone no matter where they are located.

The DistribuCare platform allows caregivers to share their resources from many different locations. With this solution doctors with smaller caseloads can help doctors in facilities that have higher number of patients, benefiting both patients and physicians.

DistribuCare increases access with:

  • Urgent care remote support
  • Telemedicine consults on demand
  • Scheduled care coordination with specialists
  • Remote pharmacy support
  • Home care remote second opinions and support

The DistribuCare managed workflow will reduce costs by distributing the workforce to see more patients with better allocation of resources, which in the long run will reduce costs and introduce new service for new revenue streams.

"Carousel created DistribuCare with its partners to address the changing needs of healthcare providers. Medical experts are preparing for an enormous increase in patient caseloads as more people in the U.S. gain access to health insurance. DistribuCare enables medical networks to better manage this rising demand for healthcare, while providing for a faster and efficient experience for their patients," said James Marsh, Senior Vice President at Carousel.
