Ararat International to Represent MMRGlobal in the Middle East

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and several countries in the Middle East have been investing heavily in the technology sector for the past several years. The UAE currently ranks as the country with the world's top fiber to the home (FTTH) coverage, with a penetration rate of more than 75 percent. They are also investing in eHealth programs to provide the population with access to world-class medical care using the Internet. As a leading of Personal Health Records (PHR), MMRGlobal will be entering into an agreement with Ararat International so it can be represented in the region.

Ararat International is a distributor of agricultural, consumer, defense and transportation products in the Middle East. It will be representing MMR in the region by identifying licensees and strategic partners for the company's PHR and eHealth products and services. Ararat has experience representing some of the largest global enterprises in the Middle East, including Alcatel Lucent, Alstom, Dassault Aviation, Komatsu, Michelin, Peugeot and others.

Personal health record systems give patients access to their records no matter where they're located. In a region such as the Middle East, where there is a large population of expatriates from many countries from around the world, PHRs provide their doctors with medical records when there is an emergency. While multinational organizations initially requested this technology, eventually it will serve the local population by introducing a service that is increasingly becoming an essential part of medical care.

"Since the beginning of last year, there has been an aggressive movement in the region to create eHealth products and services with particular emphasis on PHRs. Numerous multinational organizations and at least one government have asked us to consider participating in the region as a strategic partner in eHealth programs. However, regional protocols require that we need support in doing business in the region which is where Ararat International comes in," said Robert H. Lorsch, MMRGlobal CEO.

The MyMedicalRecords PHR from MMR is a patented technology that gives individuals and families access to medical records, birth certificates, passports, insurance policies and wills where ever there is an Internet connection. It also allows the transmission and storage of these documents, images and voicemail messages using fax, phone or file upload without an electronic medical record (EMR) system to populate an account. If there is an emergency, healthcare professionals and first responders will be able to access vital medical information using a separate Emergency Login.

"By offering MyMedicalRecords, we can take advantage of trends and successes in the U.S. and apply it to the healthcare industry in the Middle East. We look forward to starting presentations with our largest business clients as soon as next week when our Los Angeles team is in Dubai," said Garo S. Vanian, president of Ararat International.
