Connect 4 Healthcare is one of those companies that has been working in the healthcare technology industry for quite a while, and has long leaned on a program many may not even realize exists.
The company has long had a multi-threaded mass notification that works to notify people of emergency situations when they first arise.
This program, just getting some real notice from its customers these days, works quite a bit better and quite a bit faster than most other companies can boast.
Long-term care has long been one of those fields that have needed a better use of today’s top technology, and Connect 4’s own notification system is one of the best.
With the push of a button, a Connect 4 Healthcare user can connect to a patient’s care providers or family and let them know what a situation has arisen that needs their attention. Because one button push alerts everyone, there isn’t valuable time wasted making phone calls to several different entities.
Neil Moore, founder and CEO at Connect 4 Healthcare, discussed how his company has changed the way the notification process works. "Historically, providers have relied on the telephone in an emergency – most still do,” he said. “During [Hurricane] Sandy we even saw a couple of providers posting notices on their websites. Neither approach is practical or effective in an emergency.”
Craig Gordon, director of business development for the company, relayed a story about how a residential facility hit by a tornado spent a massive 17 hours notifying family members and medical professionals who were treating the residents of the facility.
This particular notification system includes text messages, e-mails and Web portals that are highly secure in order to get the message out there as quickly as possible.
The company now has clients in the United States and Canada.
