Lawson Software Announces Solutions for Security of Digital Patient Information

While the technology marketplace and the healthcare industry remain enthusiastic about digital medical records, lingering doubts remain about security, given the stringent rules governing confidential patient data. To this end, a number of technology companies are focusing on digital medical records security.

One such company, Lawson Software, an Infor affiliate, announced the availability of an enhanced version of Cloverleaf Secure Courier (CSC) and Cloverleaf Global Monitor for its Cloverleaf Integration Suite for connecting data, doctors and communities. With the launch, the company is providing a way for healthcare organizations to share patient data across the enterprise, connecting disparate departments and increasing proper care transitions to help improve quality care outcomes – all while ensuring the security of the data.

CSC provides customers a secure way to send patient data and information between Cloverleaf engines and multiple remote locations, and Global Monitor provides a web-based, mobile dashboard to enable real-time, secure monitoring of Cloverleaf interfaces to ensure that patient information and clinical data is reaching critical systems across the healthcare enterprise, said the company in a press release. The new releases follow a Cloverleaf Engine upgrade that includes a more intuitive user interface for increased productivity in managing healthcare data flow.

The application also extends the hospital's integration platform by enabling remote installation of the Cloverleaf engine at new hospitals and physician offices across the network, says the company. The updated framework requires minimal administrative effort to automate client updates, auto-register and add new Secure Courier connections. With the addition of Cloverleaf Secure Courier, hospitals currently using the Cloverleaf Integration Suite can drive physician alignment by providing real-time, electronic access to critical patient information needed for improved care delivery.

“The addition of Cloverleaf Secure Courier and Global Monitor, and the recent Cloverleaf user interface upgrade, demonstrate our continued commitment and investment in clinical integration and to offering our customers a more enhanced Cloverleaf offering,” said Jim Catalino, SVP and general manager, Lawson Healthcare. “These modules, along with our other Integration offerings, directly align with our strategy to deliver technology that allows healthcare organizations to rapidly break down information silos, facilitate greater efficiency and improve care delivery processes.”
