Extend Health Opens Second Service Center in Richardson, Texas and Creates 250 New Jobs

Extend Health, Inc. currently operates the largest private Medicare exchange in the country. The company recently announced that it will open a second service center in Richardson, Texas. The company expects the new service center to create an additional 250 jobs and is scheduled to be open in July 2011.

Extend Health will also operate its service center which is located in Salt Lake City, Utah where more than 650 advisors are employed during its peak. In a release, Bryce Williams, CEO of Extend Health, said that, “We were drawn to Richardson based on the concentration and demographics of potential employees with service center experience and the skills required to become licensed benefit advisors. The greater Dallas-Fort Worth area is the fourth largest metropolitan area in the country and home to major U.S. corporations, including 24 of the Fortune 500, and many others that have service centers here.”

All benefit advisors that work with Extend Health go through an extensive training program before they are allowed to put on a headset. The first step in the training program is where the new hires get their licenses to sell health insurance in specified states. The company offers pre-licensing courses to help prepare applicants for state exams. Benefit advisors are then enrolled in Extend University, which is a six-week training course where they go through a number of different topics. During this period, benefit advisors get a strong understanding of Medicare and its importance to millions of older Americans.

Williams went on to say that, “Benefit advisors are skilled and compassionate individuals who guide our retiree customers through the process of using an exchange to compare and choose private Medicare plans that meet their needs. We’re committed to hiring, training and assisting with the licensing of highly qualified individuals and to keeping and building well-paying jobs here in the United States.”
