Polycom, a provider of unified communications solutions, announced that it is demonstrating its connected healthcare solutions along with the newly launched SpectraLink 8400 series handsets at HIMSS11 Annual Conference and Expo from Feb. 21 - 24.
Polycom explained that its healthcare solutions work in tandem with key healthcare applications to deliver improved patient care, streamlined communications and workflow, enhanced productivity and at the same time helped healthcare providers realize better ROI.
At the expo, Polycom will be showcasing how seamless patient and caregiver communications can be realized regardless of location, which in turn enhances patient outcomes, saving time and money for all involved.
The company will also show how Polycom -connected healthcare solutions bring down the distance barriers and facilitate communication between patients, practitioners, specialists and healthcare administrators utilizing collaborative standards based voice and video solutions.
Some of the solutions that will be used at the Polycom demonstration are: Polycom Practitioner Cart HDX – for mobile telehealth applications; Polycom UC Intelligent Core Solutions such as Polycom Converged Management Application (CMA) 4000/5000 and CMA Desktop and Polycom HDX 4000 Series – a HD desktop videoconferencing system that can be used to transform the desktop monitor for viewing browser-based images like EHR or for viewing live telehealth sessions.
Polycom claimed that its newly launched SpectraLink 8400 wireless telephones improve productivity and responsiveness for on-site mobile professionals across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, retail, manufacturing and hospitality. With the Polycom SpectraLink 8400 series, one also benefits from a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and open standards designs that make it easy to integrate with an organization’s Wi-Fi infrastructure, telephony systems and business applications.
Users who opt for these new handsets can leverage their existing infrastructure investments and evolve their mobile technology needs to meet their organizational changes, said the company. The phones are available with an integrated barcode reader delivering an innovative voice, application and data capture solution unlike any currently available platform in the market.
The company added that its UC solutions also help healthcare organizations provide distance learning for healthcare providers as well as support effective administrative communications.
