Medical Providers Can Now Access EHR Solutions from iPads

The rapidly changing medical sector has providers looking for different ways to streamline the delivery of care without escalating costs. Practice Fusion, which provides a free, web-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to physicians, appears to have made things easier for house call physicians and micro practitioners with an EHR solution on the iPad.
Choosing the iPad as a platform to deliver EHR solutions was an easy decision for Practice Fusion as a Chilmark Research report revealed that more than 22 percent of medical providers had transitioned from paper charts and adopted the iPad to provide healthcare.
"We're seeing a transformation in healthcare as savvy medical providers maximize new technology to improve the care they provide to patients," said Ryan Howard, Founder and CEO of Practice Fusion, in a press release.
With the help of practice Fusion's web-based EHR and the iPad, doctors can make more house calls, update charts anytime and anywhere and have more time to devote to their patients. The portability, ease of use, flexible templating system that allows the capturing, storing and sharing of important health information is a boon for harassed and overworked practitioners.
Scharmaine Lawson-Baker a Nurse Practitioner in New Orleans said in a statement, "Not only am I more efficient and accurate, but my patients have the added confidence of seeing their labs and charts with me in their homes, knowing I have their entire health record at my fingertips."
A free Practice Fusion EHR account and a $29.95 LogMeIn Ignition for iPhone/iPad app, cell or WiFi reception is all that is required to get medical providers started to securely use all the features of EHR
from their iPads. This will help them to communicate and collaborate with patients and other care providers in real-time.
Howard emphasizing the advantages of migrating to the iPad said, "Our portable EHR solution on the iPad allows doctors to chart from the office, home or hospital. Patients win when medical providers have complete record access at all times."
HealthTechZone reported that Practice Fusion launched a savings analytics tool that would help more doctors to calculate the savings they can expect by using the company's technology.
