Health Information Exchange: Xyntek Inks Agreement with Biopharmaceutical Company

Integrated information systems and automation solutions provider Xyntek, Inc. has signed an agreement with a biopharmaceutical client to integrate and deploy a global Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) solution, which is being developed to enable scientists to conduct their drug research and development activities in a paperless laboratory environment.

As a provider of integrated information systems and automation solutions to life sciences companies, Xyntek will help implement the ELN for both small and large molecule research and development, across multiple sites in the United States and Europe.

According to a press release, the ELN solution to be deployed by Xyntek for the biopharmaceutical company will integrate existing lab automation technologies and information systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Scientific Data management Systems (SDMS), Chromatography Data Management Systems (CDMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, and Compound/Sample Management and Fulfillment systems into a single solution.

The name of the biopharmaceutical company that selected Xyntek to integrate the ELN solution was undisclosed.

Apart from increasing productivity, efficiencies and collaboration, the new ELN solution will also improve GxP compliance, and ensure Intellectual Property protection – all in a paperless laboratory environment.

In addition, the ELN solution will provide considerable flexibility and customization that enables the application to conform to the needs of the users and departmental business processes.

The Xyntek will be involved with key aspects of project planning, detailed assessments, design and execution activities for the implementation of the new ELN solution. Apart from prioritizing template design and creation for department checklists, Xyntek will be integrating ELN Forms and/or Templates with third party applications.

In addition, Xyntek will be communicating with end users and management across various departments to gather requirements and transform their expectations into notebook templates, work flows and functions that result in increased ease of use and reduce upfront training hurdles for laboratory associates

Moreover, Xyntek will be involved in collaborating with compliance personnel on issues of GxP relevance; development and execution of templates and recipe with focus on collecting and recording data and metadata that are normally the content of paper-based notebooks; and training subject matter experts (SME) on ELN.

Officials with Xyntek said that the number of users of ELN solution would eventually exceed 1500 users.

Earlier this year, Xyntek re-launched its website to deliver a fresh new appeal, and updated information regarding the company’s latest IT, automation, and compliance solutions and services.
