Need for Global ECG Telemetry Devices on the Rise

A new report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., which examines the market for ECG Telemetry devices, reveals a steady growth in the global market for ECG monitoring equipment and indicates that it will reach $1.25 billion by 2017.

Titled "ECG Telemetry Devices: A Global Strategic Business Report", the report profiles major companies worldwide and reviews trends, issues and industry initiatives in this market, and indicates the factors that trigger product growth.

The report attributes the demand for ECG Telemetry equipment to a trend of cardiovascular diseases.

Further, investment in cardiovascular care is becoming more expensive, as is the rise in managed care services. This has yielded an increase in the adoption of advanced ECG data management systems and increased sales of portable ECG devices for home care.

According to Global Industry Analysts Inc., the U.S. constitutes the largest regional market with the Asia-Pacific being identified as the fastest growing market for ECG telemetry devices. Significant growth in developing countries elicits the potential for new opportunities in patient care monitoring systems in emerging markets.

Mobile medical units in developed countries with portable ECG telemetry systems are increasing in availability to provide heart check-ups to home-care patients.

Hence, with the rise in demands for home care treatments post-surgery, the demand for portable ECG telemetry devices is also increasing. The Central Display segment, which typically records patient information when installed on a computer, is also growing rapidly.

Thus with most hospitals moving towards computerization for maintaining Electrocardiogram records, investment in data management systems form a large part of hospital budgets.

The current report includes annual sales estimates and projections for ECG Telemetry Devices market for the years 2009 through 2017, and examines 51 companies with many niche players.
