HeartMath, a company providing a range of services, products and technologies to improve health and reduce stress, has
reportedly unveiled a new desktop product called emWave that works on both PC and Mac systems.
Officials at the company explain emWave Desktop as a software-with-hardware program designed to help to de-stress and improve ones’ emotional resilience.
It collects data from a person’s heart through a pulse sensor that plugs into computer and then the program translates the information from the heart rhythms into user-friendly graphics displayed on the computer monitor. As the user applies the stress-reducing Quick Coherence technique learned from the program’s tutorial, one can see the heart rhythms change in real time.
This new software emWave Desktop is an outcome of the effort put forth by the company for almost 18 years, conducting research on the relationship between stress and emotions. According to the company, this research has proven that the heart is a key component of the emotional system and it not only responds to emotion, the signals generated by its rhythmic activity actually play a major role in determining the quality of our emotional experiences.
According to Catherine Calarco, vice president of sales and marketing for HeartMath LLC, the company’s emWave technologies are helping to change lives of people for the better by reducing the negative effects of stress, allowing them to experience greater health, increased energy, and improved emotional balance and mental clarity.
The new emWave Desktop also helps in storing and tracking the user’s progress over time and review previously recorded sessions. The program includes three colorful, interactive games designed to train to create a positive emotional shift and learn to transform stress into creative energy.
Another feature of emWave Desktop is its Emotion Visualizer which provides stunning images that emit varying degrees of color and movement as users adjust their emotional state.
“We’re all about making people’s lives less stressful. In today’s times many of our customers have their entire family involved in using the emWave technologies. emWave Desktop gives people the added flexibility of choosing one product that will work for any platform,” said Catherine Calarco.
The company is currently selling all its products through major online resellers, catalogs and the
HeartMath Web site.
