Summa Health System, integrated delivery systems in Ohio, has reportedly
deployed eClinicalWorks electronic medical records solution for its 223 physicians serving 33 specialties.
Dr. Cliff Deveny, president of Summa Physicians, Inc. said that the company selected eClinicalWorks because of Summa Health System’s previous relationship with the system and they knew they were obtaining an EMR system with solid functionality that will lead to better documentation and care management. He said that by implementing eClinicalWorks meets a significant piece of their strategic plan of improved communication to better manage large groups of patients.
Summa Health System can simplify the processes throughout the practice and promote patient safety while reducing costs by deploying the new EMR solution. The company can also take advantage of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act reimbursements. Under it, providers will be reimbursed for demonstrating ‘meaningful use’ of an EMR system.
EClinicalWorks had recently announced that its software offers meaningful use criteria, as defined through ARRA, thereby reducing the risk that practices face in investing in new technology. The company even provides free webinars at no cost to customers to learn what functions within their eClinicalWorks system will help them achieve meaningful use. EClinicalWorks staff also provides on-site services to score practices on their meaningful use readiness along with online-tool for assessing a customer's meaningful use readiness.
“Summa Physicians, Inc., selecting eClinicalWorks is a direct correlation to our relationship with Summa Health Network and a validation of the value we provide our customers,” Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks, said. “We look forward to working with Summa Physicians, Inc., to ensure its providers receive top quality service in order to improve overall functionality.”
EClinicalWorks completed a record year in 2009, with revenue crossing the $100 million mark for the first time in company history and employee count exceeding 900. The company also expanded its New York City office, opened a California office to solidify its presence on the West coast.
