Healthcare Technology and News: Carestream Health Intros New CR Mammography Screen

Carestream Health, Inc., provider of dental and medical imaging systems and healthcare IT solutions, has reportedly introduced new EHR-M3 screen for its CR mammography imaging systems that features reduced noise and a higher detector quantum efficiency for improved image quality.

Officials at Carestream said that, the new screen is introduced to replace previous screens used with DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography Systems that are equipped with the company’s Mammography Feature. The Mammography Feature is now available in Canada, Europe, South America, Australia, Asia and other regions.

According to the company, the new screen offers a 20 percent reduction in noise, which can improve diagnostic confidence and help reduce radiologists’ reading time. And it makes it easier for users to use cassettes with the new screen to improve image quality for mammography exams.

This new screen is now included in the company’s mammography cassettes in both 8-by-10-inch and 10-by-12-inch sizes and its is compatible with various other DIRECTVIEW CR 850/950/975 and DIRECTVIEW Classic and Elite CR systems currently used for mammography applications.

Carestream Health has been catering women’s healthcare for years with wide variety of solutions including mammography-specific modules for its RIS/PACS platform; a multi-modality breast imaging workstation that allows reading of all breast imaging modalities as well as general radiology exams; digital capture of mammography images and CAD for its DIRECTVIEW CR systems in countries where approved for use; and high-resolution output to DRYVIEW Laser Imaging.

The company was recently in news for adapting Xactly SPM solutions to manage its global sales compensation and provide its sales representatives with real-time behavior-modifying sales visibility. It is now benefiting from the SaaS solution which provides easy integration with other SaaS solutions thereby ensuring seamless and cost-effective scalability with simple maintenance.
