CVS Introduces Online and Smartphone-Based Shopping

CVS pharmacy recently announced the introduction of improved shopping as well as prescription refill ability. For customers who are constantly on the move, CVS has brought in the iPhone and Android app.  All ExtraCare reward accounts can be managed on mobile phones. A shopper will be able to scan and send out prescription refills. He or she will also be able to send out printing orders for selected photographs from CVS Photo Centers.

In a release, Rob Price, senior vice president, CMO for CVS said, "CVS customers are increasingly using smartphones to do everything from shopping to social networking while on-the-go. Given the popularity of mobile devices, CVS has added new mobile innovations that make it easier for our customers to order refills and manage their ExtraCare account."

There are many features that the clients of CVS/pharmacy's mobile website can now have access to. The cutting edge functionality allows shoppers to load chosen ExtraCare coupons that they have got straight onto their ExtraCare card. This can be done through the "Send to Card" digital savings option. Users will also be able to take a look at their remaining balance of ExtraBucks Rewards. They will be able to peruse ExtraCare transaction history and place orders to replace a lost or missing card.

Besides this, CVS has launched a complete collection of mCommerce options for shoppers using photo services. Those with smartphones will now be able to look at photo albums as well as slideshows. They will also be able to order prints that they can have picked up from the store in as short as an hour. These photos can easily be shared with the family.

For those who have the CVS’ iPhone and the Android app, CVS is working at making things easier when it comes to managing prescriptions no matter where and at what time. Users with the iPhone or Android app will be able to scan and send quick refills without signing in from their smartphones to their local CVS. This can be done for as many as six prescriptions at one go. All one has to do is scan the prescription labels on the bottles. The necessary QR code scanner is included in the app.
