Paladin Chooses Mitchell's Worker Compensation Solution to Streamline Services

Mitchell, a provider of technology, connectivity and information solutions to the insurance industry, today announced that it has also entered the healthcare field with its selection by Paladin Managed Care Services, Inc., to streamline medical claims management and contain costs through its SmartAdvisor™ medical bill review software platform, according to a press release at marketwire.com.

Paladin, run by physicians, was previously an Ingenix PowerTrak client and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SeaBright Holdings, Inc., according to the press release. Ingenix was acquired by Mitchell in 2010. Paladin provides utilization and bill review, field case management, and other medical management, according to its Web site.

Mitchell Workers' Compensation Solutions, a division of Mitchell International, describes itself as a provider of workers' compensation cost-containment technologies and services, whose clients include payers, self-insured companies, third-party administrators, and managed care, according to a press release at prnewswire.com.

"We are pleased to welcome Paladin to Mitchell," said Nina Smith-Garmon, senior vice president and general manager of the Mitchell workers' compensation solutions division, in the press release. "This new alliance is a compelling example of the speed and success of the integration of the Ingenix P&C business . . .into the Mitchell family. Paladin's decision to use Mitchell for medical bill review processing speaks to the superior quality of our technology-enabled claims processing solutions and to the strength of our client relationships."

Paladin Managed Care Services Inc. is equally happy to be working with Mitchell. Jeffrey Miller, CEO, said in the press release, “We look forward to working with Mitchell to further streamline our medical claims processing operations and optimize the cost containment services that we provide to our clients nationwide. Aided by the superior performance and efficiency we expect from the Mitchell system, our physicians and other medical bill review experts can now achieve even greater cost savings for our clients without compromising high-quality, effective care for injured workers."

Mitchell SmartAdvisor™ is a bill review solution for workers' compensation that includes software, client services and partnerships, according to the press release, and is available through licensed or software-as-a-service models. The solution includes “customizable workflow modeling, Capstone business decision rules engine, data analytics and reporting tools, and a claims examiner portal for fast, secure, real-time access to bill data,” the press release states.
