DriveSavers Data Recovery, a provider of data recovery services, has just attained compliance with all the forty-two standards specified in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
The company claimed that its mission is to successfully recover data using its certified ISO 5 cleanroom environment, protect data privacy with a certified secure data recovery process that undergoes annual SAS 70 Type II Audit Reports, and offer the ultimate customer service experience with 24/7 support.
Trusted Consulting Compliance (TrustCC) conducted the compliance testing for DriveSavers data recovery processes. In addition, DriveSavers is stated to have achieved the distinction of being the only certified HIPAA compliant data recovery service provider in the industry that meets all forty-two data security standards.
HIPAA demands healthcare providers and government agencies to adhere to the most stringent data security guidelines. The act was extended to include third party data recovery vendors that handle confidential data to meet these guidelines and DriveSavers claimed that it prepared itself to meet the same rigorous security demands.
Apart from complying with HIPAA, DriveSavers asserted that it also adheres to the U.S. Government security protocols, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act Data Security Rule (GLBA), the Data-At-Rest mandate (DAR) and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). DriveSavers engineers have received certifications for completing extensive training programs from major encryption software vendors, including GuardianEdge, PGP, Pointsec (Check Point Software Technology) and Utimaco.
Officials with the company remarked that with an increase in the amount of sensitive patient data that is being stored electronically, plus the strict regulations for securing PHI data it's no surprise that data breach is a major concern for CIOs in healthcare. Healthcare providers spend a significant amount of time vetting their prospective vendors to ensure that they adhere to HIPAA security compliance guidelines. DriveSavers’ healthcare customers can feel confident that its data recovery services meet HIPAA data security standards, as well as other important security standards and protocols.
