Axolotl Corp., now called OptumInsight, announced that its Axolotl EMR Lite, version 9.2 has received certification as a Complete Ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) system by InfoGard Laboratories.
InfoGard is a National Coordinator for Health IT Authorized Testing and Certification Body or ONC-ATCB. The certification awarded by InfoGard validates that Axolotl EMR Lite supports the 2011/2012 Meaningful Use criteria.
In a release Glenn Keet, president of Axolotl said, “Axolotl EMR Lite enables physicians to access patient and medical information resources that are vital to improving quality and coordination of care, while supporting their efforts to demonstrate Meaningful Use of health IT and qualify for federal incentive payments.”
“In order to enable advanced health information exchange capabilities through a robust, vendor-neutral platform, we offer Axolotl EMR Lite and Axolotl EHR, which includes an integrated practice management system, as solutions that help physicians quickly implement and use health IT to improve patient care,” Keet added.
This means that physicians can use the service to qualify for health IT incentive payments that are provided by Medicare and Medicaid through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Axolotl EMR Lite can be integrated with the Axolotl suite of health information exchange (HIE) solutions and with other practice management system enabling physicians to connect immediately with the HIE and other care providers.
This allows sharing of data and collaboration with regards to patient care which becomes speedier and secure, said officials.
Axolotl introduced Axolotl HER in early 2011. It also received 2011/2012 Complete EHR certification from Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT). Axolotl EHR serves as a comprehensive and easy-to-use EHR and integrated practice management system using which doctors automate administrative tasks like scheduling and billing. It also helps them access important patient and clinical information, and coordinate care with other care providers.
In March 2011 Axolotl EHR, version 7 and Elysium EMR Lite received Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) 2011/2012 certifications in accordance with Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
In this context Keet said that EMR Lite reflects the company’s commitment to giving health information exchanges a range of pre-integrated ambulatory EHR systems that they can offer to their physician members to enhance collaboration across patient care teams and throughout their communities.
