NTT DATA Optimum Suite Gets Healthcare Certification

Healthcare IT is in quite a predicament in this day and age. Ultimately, every healthcare institution has to look over its shoulder to make sure it complies with regulations. For this reason, many IT service providers need to achieve certification that will reassure the institutions that choose their services that their platforms have the government's seal of approval.

NTT DATA, Inc., one of the biggest global IT innovators on the market, has recently made the announcement that its healthcare platform, NTT DATA Optimum Suite, has received a 2014 Edition Complete EHR Inpatient ONC Health IT Certification. This means that the software can work with healthcare centers that need Stage 1 and Stage 2 “meaningful use” requirements on their electronic health record (EHR) platforms. These requirements qualify institutions for appropriations funding provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The certification came from ICSA Labs, which is compliant with standards from the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Optimum comes in two packages: RCM and General Accounting (GA). In the RCM package, healthcare providers will get a platform that manages patient access, healthcare eligibility, medical necessity, electronic claims, accounts receivable, documents, and billing. The general accounting package, Optimum GA, is very self-explanatory. The software is built to allow healthcare providers to worry less about regulations and focus more on operational efficiency to deliver the best healthcare possible.

Mike Jones, SVP and GM for NTT DATA, said, “NTT DATA is pleased to announce the complete 2014 ONC Health IT certification for the Optimum 3.2 EHR solution. This achievement exemplifies our dedication to providing effective, high-quality solutions that enable our clients to improve outcomes and drive patient-focused workflows while maintaining regulatory compliance. As a leader in the healthcare technology industry, NTT DATA looks forward to helping our customers achieve their long-term strategic goals.”
