Online Fitness Startup Wello Offers Monthly Subscriptions for Training Sessions


Online fitness startup Wello now offers users individual and group video-enabled fitness sessions. These sessions allow customers to get into shape in the comfort of their own homes and at times that are convenient for them. The sessions are much cheaper than those offered at local gyms.

Wello started by just offering individual training sessions, but has now added group sessions that are lower priced than its individual ones. Wello’s next big move is to offer gym-like subscriptions that packages workouts together and lowers the price. Wello is offering a selection of options and prices for its users based on the number of sessions and whether you work out in a group or alone.

Packages listed so far are:

Group Class Memberships

  • 4 Classes: $49 / mo.
  • 10 Classes: $99 / mo.
  • Unlimited Classes: $179 / mo.

1-on-1 Personal Training Memberships

  • 4 Workouts: $99 / mo.
  • 10 Workouts: $199 / mo.
  • 30 Workouts: $379 / mo.

Users can always upgrade their plan or buy more on a la carte basis, Broken down individually group classes are $14 a session and individual workouts are $29. Working out as a group also adds a social component to the workout.

Wello’s trainers are certified and tested out before they join the platform. Trainers are also rated by users who have sessions with them. Wello has more than 10,000 options available for different types of workouts. They offers options including yoga, general training, boot camp, Pilates, circuit training, aerobics, sports, martial arts, therapy and more. The workouts are available seven days a week.

According to the company’s co-founder and CEO, Leslie Silverglide, “About two-thirds of all customers who sign up and try one exercise session come back and do it again. And the average customer already takes about six sessions each month.”
