RouteMatch Software's Facility Web Portal Helps Improve Communication

In an effort to improve the communication between transportation service providers and health and human service providers, passenger transportation technology solution provider RouteMatch Software, Inc. has developed a solution called the Facility Web Portal.

The Facility Web Portal enables organizations to access an online central repository to register, reserve, cancel or check on the status of trips. This will allow transportation providers to easily and more efficiently coordinate communication with multiple partner providers and eliminate confusion brought on a high volume of phone calls, faxes and e-mails.

One such organization that has experienced improvement in communication through the implementation of RouteMatch Software's Facility Web Portal is the North Carolina-based transit agency Kerr Area Rural Transportation System. KARTS, which works with numerous health and human service organizations and a variety of facilities such as vocational centers and rehabilitation centers and manages around 650 trips a day, selected RouteMatch's solution in hopes of decreasing the amount of in-coming rush phone calls and faxes for trip requests, as well as the chance of error.

"For us, RouteMatch's Facility Web Portal really improved the way we were communicating with other health and human services organizations and has eliminated the duplication of work," Rob Brink, executive director at KARTS, said in a statement. "We have been able to streamline our communication process and we now have clear verification from the partner who is authorizing the trip to us. It also provides documentation for all Medicaid trips which helps us and our partnering organizations with reporting."

In related company news, RouteMatch Software has launched a new app called RouteShout, which will inform bus riders in Grand Forks, North Dakota which is the right bus to take to reach their destination, whether or not their bus will be on time or not, and how many minutes their bus is running late. The free app will be available for smartphones, tablets and computers this June.
