Acibadem Mobile Health Services Records Europe's Fastest Growth in Mobile Health Market

Mobile health (mHealth) is a great way for healthcare providers to interact with their patients and offer a variety of services without having to go to clinics or hospitals unless it is necessary. This service depends on a technology that is rapidly achieving very high penetration rates in developed and developing countries around the world. Smartphones and tablets are key components for the implementation of mHealth and with a combined sales forecast of 1.2 billion units for 2013, it is only a matter of time before they replace traditional cell phones as the preferred communication and computing tool.

The fastest-growing mHealth provider in Europe, Acibadem Mobile Health Services (AMHS), has been in the forefront of this technology since 2008 and this foresight has paid off; it has been recognized with the Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Leadership for achieving the highest compound growth rate in Europe.

The European mobile health market is expected to grow from €393 million (about $505.9 million) in 2011 to €2.45 billion (about $3.15 billion) in 2016. As an established mHealth provider, AMHS is poised to grab an even larger share of the market as more and more people use their mobile devices for receiving medical assistance and information. The organization experienced its largest growth from 2009 to 2011 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 81 percent and the company projects to double revenue by the end of this year.

"A well-defined strategy and effective management skills have enabled AMHS to achieve such remarkable growth in this emerging market," said Frost & Sullivan Healthcare Manager, Eramangalath Sujith. "At the heart of the company's success are effective financial management and marketing campaigns, backed by best-in-class services.”
