Practice Fusion Highlights the Impact of mHealth

If you are not a healthcare professional or have never worked in the medical field, you do not know how vital health records are and the immense problems a facility could face if such documents are lost, which is why most offices have tried to convert to electronic health record (EHR) platforms.

Practice Fusion has led the way for the EHR platform to evolve since 2005, and now it is helping a younger company, 100Plus, which has created a mobile health prediction platform, to do the same with its recent acquirement of the company.

In order to remind people of the importance of physical activities and their health, companies alike are creating new ways to capturing user’s attention through technology advanced products. This trend has been coined mHealth (mobile health), and has garnered the attention of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare providers, and companies like Practice Fusion.

Just like the many health trackers that have reached the market this past year, 100Plus’ app functions as a health reminder by informing users how they can improve their lifestyles with recommended activities based on their location and preference. It encourages users to take small steps that will eventually help them expand their lifespan and better their overall health, although the app is still not live (it plans to launch next month).

According to TechCrunch, since 100Plus launched, Practice Fusion founder and CEO, Ryan Howard, has taken a vested interest as he has worked closely with 100Plus found erChris Hogg.

With such a notorious company like Practice Fusion acquiring a mobile, on-the-go-based venture, the industry is beginning to see just how much of a statement mHealth trend has made. By taking 100Plus into its hands, Practice Fusion will begin to development new products that intertwine the healthcare with the latest discoveries in the mobile world.
