AT&T, E3 Greentech Join Forces to Wirelessly Connect E3's Home Energy Management System

AT&T, a provider of wireless, Wi-Fi, high speed Internet and voice services, has inked a partnership agreement with Georgia-based smart grid technology company E3 Greentech, in order to wirelessly connect Home Energy Management System (HEMS).

Together, AT&T and E3 Greentech will provide wireless access to a central unit, the E3 Intelligent Bridge located in the home. This system will facilitate homeowners and property managers to optimize their energy use by automatically reducing energy waste.

Since its inception, E3 Greentech has been offering a cloud-based intelligent networked services platform, called IROM (Integrated Rules Object Model). According to the company, the IROM is capable of delivering significant reductions in energy consumption, peak demand, carbon emissions, and energy costs for electric utilities, property managers, communities, residential property developers, as well as residential property owners.

E3 Greentech’s HEMS is the company’s first business application of IROM. In HEMS, the company’s patented software and unique cloud-based intelligent platform have been integrated with an integrated network of smart microprocessors, sensors and controls installed at the premise.

Offered as fully bundled Software-as-a-service (SAAS) product, the HEMS is claimed to dynamically optimize energy use. It also combines green building technology, such as intelligent devices, sensors and systems, with smart grid technology. These combined features help in delivering predictable sustainable energy savings.

Offering property owners the ability to more effectively monitor and manage energy consumption, the new wirelessly connected system for the HEMS leverages adaptive software and techniques that are capable of learning and dynamically optimizing energy use with the premise to match consumer behavior.

According to E3, its new wirelessly connected system can not only automatically reduce energy waste but also reduce energy waste due to smart grid, thereby delivering energy savings of 15 percent or greater and reductions in peak energy demand of 25 percent or greater.

“AT&T looks for opportunities to provide cost saving initiatives for our customers and E3 Greentech is doing just that by providing its customers with welcomed energy savings,” said Glenn Lurie, president of emerging devices, resale and partnerships, AT&T, in a statement.  “We look forward to working with E3 Greentech on E3 Intelligent Bridge.”

Greg Chambers, chief technology officer of E3 Greentech, said in a statement, “E3 Greentech is overwhelmingly excited about being able to take the smart grid wireless, we have the highest level of confidence in the ability of AT&T’s wireless network to deliver E3′s next generation services to homeowners, property managers and utilities alike.”
