Healthcare Technology and News: MobileFrame Announces New Healthcare Application Suite

MobileFrame, a leading configurable mobile applications provider, announced the launch of the MobileFrame Healthcare Application Suite, which enables healthcare organizations of any size or type to increase patient health outcomes, eliminate paper-based data collection and reduce liabilities as well.

The applications can be deployed immediately and can be configured to meet the exact requirements of the organization, as it is highly flexible. This suite of applications provides the ability to securely collect rich data types including Digital Photos, Barcode Scans, Digital Signature Capture, Sketches, Voice Notes, GPS, RFID, Biometrics and Real-Time Notifications. The suite consists of two primary modules Patient Care Application and Hospital Management. It also includes Home Healthcare Visits; First Responder; Paternity Declaration; Durable Medical Equipment Tracking; Clinical Trials and Emergency Medical Services.

The Patient Care Applications include patient check-in with records, patient identification, prior health history, allergies, current medications and emergency contacts; patient medication administration allows healthcare workers to scan patient wrist band, access medication history, log new medication disbursements and capture high resolution photos, digital signatures and voice notes; patient vitals check which digitally documents patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pain levels and notes with the ability to review history; and patient meal ordering where the real-time patient meal can order the complete meal with dietary specific notifications and notes.

The Hospital Management Application includes specimen tracking with complete chain of custody tracking, including specimen pickup and drop off, temperature recording and GPS location stamps with date/time verification; surgery checklist, which digitally documents patient interaction and services from point of entry into the hospital to fulfilment of care; inventory management allows staff to record physical inventory counts, put away locations and document damaged goods; and facilities management enables facilities management staff to track and create work orders related to specific pieces of equipment, review maintenance logs, track billable time and record parts used.

In a press release, the CEO of MobileFrame, Lonny Oswalt, said, "The healthcare industry deals with a lot of critical data, and that data needs to be shared between several departments and individuals. Today, most healthcare organization are using paper-based solutions that are cumbersome and require manual data entry, which is both inefficient and error-prone. With our Healthcare Application Suite, all data is collected electronically, automatically validated, and is available wherever it is needed, in real time. This not only improves data accuracy and efficiency, but also provides healthcare organizations with significant cost savings."
