CollaborateMD Version 8.3.7 to be ANSI 5010 Compliant

CollaborateMD, a provider of cloud-based medical practice management software for medical practices and billing services, announced that it will be soon releasing version 8.3.7 of its medical billing software which will be ANSI 5010 compliant.

In a release Douglas Kegler, CollaborateMD Founder and CEO said, “Our customers are spoiled not having to worry about software updates, regulation changes, hardware upgrades, and all of the other items we take care for them behind the scenes.”

“Everyone at CollaborateMD enjoys making our customers lives easier and it shows by our continued growth each year,” Kegler added.

It was revealed that the new software release will feature several software enhancements for customers and it will also help medical offices and medical billing services to be ANSI 5010 compliant on January 1, 2012.

All healthcare providers, clearinghouses and insurance payers have to submit and receive electronic transactions in the enhanced ANSI 5010 format on January 1, 2012. The ANSI 5010 format stipulates the data elements and requirements that are needed to submit medical claims and for performing other electronic health care transactions like electronic remittance advice and patient eligibility.

Officials emphasized that the major reason for implementing ANSI 5010 is to initiate the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 by October 2013.

CollaborateMD’s advanced SaaS-based technology makes it easy for rapid updates to comply with industry changes without affecting customer experience. CollaborateMD automatically updates customer accounts making way for regulatory changes thereby letting customers to enhance efficiencies as office downtime is eliminated.

Also medical practices and medical billing services that use older, in-house, server-based medical office software will have to buy software and hardware upgrades in order to gain ANSI-5010 compliance.

Complying with norms CollaborateMD has provided frequent software updates each year with feature enhancements besides meeting government regulations. It helps companies avoid costly software contracts, hardware purchases, on site IT staff, and maintenance contracts.

CollaborateMD partnered directly with RelayHealth, a division of McKesson Corporation, to ensure that their medical billing software products would be positioned for ANSI 5010 and ICD-10 compliance deadlines. The company’s cloud-based healthcare solution helps medical businesses to manage medical practice and medical billing.

Recently CollaborateMD announced PBOmd as one of its preferred EMR/ EHR partners. The preferred partnership will provide CollaborateMD and PBOmd clients with a special integration offer. CollaborateMD clients receive hospital contract rates from PBOmd and all integration fees waived.
