OSI Systems Launches AriaTele Telemetry Transmitter

Telemetry transmitters are small devices used to gather information from remote locations via wireless communications. It is important technology in today’s healthcare industry as it is used to reduce the possibility of transmission interference, dropout and downtime.

According to a press release, Spacelabs Healthcare, a healthcare division of OSI Systems, has got clearance under Section 510(k) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market the AriaTele telemetry transmitter.

OSI Systems is a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the security and healthcare industries. The company combines more than 30 years of electronics engineering and manufacturing experience with offices and production facilities in more than a dozen countries to implement a strategy of expansion into selective end product markets.

Unlike traditional telemetry transmitters, AriaTele possess a unique onboard display screen that presents vital patient information to the caregiver to confirm patient status and good signal quality.

“As the inventor of medical telemetry, we continue our long standing tradition of delivering innovative telemetry solutions. AriaTele utilizes the latest technology to improve performance, product life, compatibility, extended-wear comfort for the patient, and workflow for the healthcare provider,” said Deepak Chopra, CEO of OSI Systems.

AriaTele is fully compatible with the existing Spacelabs patient monitoring and telemetry receiver solutions. When patient care and safety is the primary concerns, AriaTele telemetry can help doctors to take better decisions.

In other company news,TMCet reported that OSI Systems recently revealed that a Texas hospital has chosen its healthcare division, Spacelabs Healthcare, to provide its solutions to the hospital’s new telemetry, intensive care and emergency departments. And right before that news broke, Spacelabs Healthcare was selected by an Illinois-based hospital to provide patient monitoring, telemetry monitoring, ICS clinical access applications and integration solutions.
