WinSonic Digital Media Group Ltd. announced that it has acquired VIPMEDRX, a digital telemedicine company that provides remote monitoring services, education and social networking capabilities to chronically ill patients.
WinSonic is a facilities-based digital media distribution solutions company which enables users to view, interact, and listen to all types of audio, online video and digital TV, in full-screen format at high speeds and with optimum quality. It eliminates the need for expensive high-speed connections.
VIPMEDRIX’s comprehensive platform helps patients to self monitor, self educate and social network with other chronically ill patients. The self monitoring results are digitally transmitted to a nurse or attendant who reviews test results and provides direction through digital video conferencing as and when necessary.
Company sources explained that the nurse or attendant can also involve attending physicians via video conference on an “as needed” basis. Besides offering monitoring capabilities, VIPMEDRX also offers comprehensive educational opportunities to chronically ill patients. They will get access to videos, journal articles and relevant Web sites that will help them more by giving greater awareness and educating them on how to manage and treat their chronic condition.
VIPMEDRX links the patient to a social networking site which will connect them to patients with similar health conditions. This is expected to open up more opportunities to discuss alternate forms of treatment and promote information sharing. Patients can also exchange ideas and feelings with empathetic sources.
In a release Dr. Carter, founder and Chairman of VIPMEDRX said, “Our software is designed to pass the litmus test for all innovative medical solutions. In addition to demonstrating a high degree of efficacy, solutions must introduce cost savings, economies of scale and economic viability.”
Winston Johnson, Chairman and CEO of WinSonic Digital Media Group, Ltd. remarked, “By incorporating VIPMEDRX software with WinSonic Digital Cable System’s network the two companies capitalize on their combined strengths.”
Johnson added that WinSonic’s network scalability offers greater profitability opportunities besides improving the speed of market penetration through bundling opportunities on the Internet.
