BioNeutral and Barnabas Health Announce Partnership

BioNeutral Group has partnered with Barnabas Health of West Orange, New Jersey, for a research and revenue sharing agreement. Both the companies will develop protocols for products such as Ygiene 206, a detergent cleaner, 90-second disinfectant and 20-minute sterilizer.

The principal researcher/investigator will be Nancy Chobin, RN, CSPDM, and, in conjunction with the Infection Prevention Department at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, she will approve the protocols for testing and supervise the test process and the collection of data. Chobin is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of infection prevention and sterilization, the company stated in a press release.

Andy Kielbania, chief executive officer of Bioneutral Group, Inc., said, “It is very important for technology-based companies like Bioneutral to engage with major health care providers to develop the best protocols for use and the data to demonstrate efficacy for the health care sector. Technology is a key factor in creating efficiencies which will drive down cost, mitigate risks and protect patients, staff and the public.”

The system includes 50 facilities with six acute care hospitals, two children's hospitals, a behavioral health center, ambulatory care centers, surgery centers, breast and imaging centers, the state's largest behavioral health network, and comprehensive home care and hospice programs.

Recently, the company announced changes to its board of directors and management team. Frank Battafarano, Ron Del Mauro and Dr. Andy Kielbania have been newly appointed to the Board. Stephen Browand, Raj Pamanai, Michael Francis and Wayne Stratton have stepped down from the board.

Battafarano was appointed chairman of the Board and is the former COO of Kindred Health Care.
