IMS Health Acquires an India-Based Company

PharmARC, an India-based company specializing in commercial analytics and services for the life sciences industry, has been acquired IMS Health.

PharmARC serves 15 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies and has experience delivering client engagements covering multiple therapeutic areas, geographies and data types.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen global services capabilities of IMS Health.

"Life sciences companies are looking for partners that can pull together the right market and technology expertise, information assets and resources to help them optimize commercial operations worldwide," said Chris Nickum, president, IMS commercial effectiveness services, in a statement.

"We are uniquely positioned to address this need -- with delivery scale and a range of technology and services offerings that include analytical and advisory services, business intelligence tools, mobile applications, data integration and management, and business process outsourcing," said Nickum.

IMS Health is a provider of information, services and technology for the healthcare industry around the world.

Amit Sadana, co-founder and CEO of PharmARC said that the company is truly excited to be joining a global healthcare leader like IMS as it expands its services business and leverages one-of-a-kind information, analytics and delivery capabilities to make clients more successful.

"Together, we'll help customers improve the way they plan and execute commercial strategies anywhere in the world," said Sadana.

Back in July, IMS Health announced that it has acquired Med-Vantage, a San Francisco-based software solutions company, to further expand its presence and capabilities in the payer marketplace.

According to a release, Med-Vantage offers its clients a suite of provider performance management and member engagement solutions that promote care and address the complexities of new reimbursement and care delivery models. IMS will integrate its healthcare data, analytics, benchmarks and quality measures into Med-Vantage's suite of payer solutions.

This combination will enable payers to proactively engage providers and members with objective information and analysis to change behaviors and create more transparent, clinically grounded performance management programs.
