The sector of healthcare information technology has been growing rapidly, with innovations being introduced every day. This phenomenon has also been encouraging new partnerships and acquisitions being made in the industry.
ManTech International Corporation, a provider of advanced technologies and solutions to help organizations realize their vital national security programs effectively, has announced that it has successfully acquired Evolvent Technologies, Inc., a Herndon, Va. based company that offers healthcare-systems integration service, specializing in federal healthcare systems.
Claiming around 1,000 contracts at present with various organizations such as the departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, Energy and Justice including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the space community, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and a number of other U.S. federal government customers, ManTech offers enhanced solutions in command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, lifecycle support, cyber security, global logistics support and intelligence/counter-intelligence support.
The health, tele-health, software development and systems integration services provided by Evolvent allow its customers to arrive at appropriated decisions at the point of care, combining medical information across different platforms.
With the new acquisition, ManTech will be able to achieve considerable growth in its operating margins and earnings per share in the current year. The company will now be able to leverage the previously existing relationships of Evolvent with DoD Health organizations, the Veterans Administration and the Department of Health and Human Services to provide a variety of information technology solutions. Additionally, ManTech will now include Evolvent into its Systems Engineering & Advanced Technology group.

In November 2011, ManTech International Corporation announced that the U.S. Navy had awarded it a task order valued at $26 million to provide engineering and technical acoustic support services. The task order was awarded under the SeaPort Enhanced contract, and had a one-year base period of performance with two option years.
