New Product Offering from MyInfo911 Enables First Responders Deliver Faster Timely and Accurate Care to Alzheimer's Patients

MyInfo911, a provider of emergency identification cards containing medical history information of the victim, has announced the release of its latest product which allows first responders and other attending medical personnel access identification details and medical history information of patients with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The company while developing its line of emergency products realized the importance of emergency ID products for such patients more than any other group based on the fact that at present around 5.3 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's, which is the most common form of dementia, has seen a steady increase and based on projections by the Alzheimer's Association, this number is expected to increase by around 50 percent within the next two decades. The aging of the baby boomers population is one of the main reasons behind this sharp increase. Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the US and is a condition for which no cure has been found as yet. So acute is the condition that even preventing the condition or off-setting it is impossible.

MyInfo911 is aware that patients of Alzheimer's have specific needs and because of that the challenges and issues they present is unique. A common symptom of the disease is patients having no recollection of their whereabouts and which means they can wander off in spite of the efforts of care givers. When found or located, the patient is often confused and can't provide any information on his or her identity. Equally alarming is the fact that a number of people with Alzheimer’s don't have any care givers and can even go driving.

MyInfo911 has developed a number of emergency products which provide instant alerts to officials about a patient with Alzheimer's. The card when scanned by any smart phone is helpful in alerting the care giver of the patient’s medical condition and makes it possible to contact the relatives of the patient. During medical emergencies, the ID card and stickers from MyInfo911 also offer detailed medical information about a patient which includes details such as allergies, medication history in addition to other medical conditions that the person might have. This information can be extremely useful to first responders and other medical personnel in providing timely and correct care.
