Rite Aid Teams up with GreatCall's Mobile Health Solutions

GreatCall has announced this week that its health technology products will now be available in over 4,000 Rite Aid stores nationwide.

GreatCall is the top senior safety product provider, redefining healthcare for active aging. GreatCall has a slew of technological solutions to help ease the minds of seniors and their loved ones regarding their safety and overall well-being. Teaming up with Rite Aid will help GreatCall continue to create products to help the healthcare field in its mobile revolution.

There are three main products becoming available at select Rite Aid stores. GreatCall Splash, an affordable waterproof medical alert device, is used to ensure seniors’ safety at all times. Jitterbug 5, a simple flip phone, provides one-touch access to NAED-Certified 5Star Agents, through a dedicated easy to see 5star button on the phone. Another solution GreatCall provides is the GreatCall Touch3, a smartphone that comes equipped with health and safety apps to allow users to take control of their own well being. When purchased at a participating Rite Aid, all Touch3 phones will come preloaded with the Rite Aid pharmacy app.

There are many helpful services offered by GreatCalls active aging platform. This includes Urgent Care, which provides users 24/7 access to certified nurses and doctors without having to travel to an office. The medication reminder app, MedCoach, helps patients adhere to their medicinal regiments each day. Along with these two well-being enhancing apps, the GreatCall Link app gives loved ones and caregivers snapshots of the user’s daily activities. With Link, family members will be the first to know if there is an emergency. Family members or caregivers that download this app on their smart device will get notifications if users contact a 5Star agent.

All of these items will be available at Rite Aid by the end of October 2014. The collaboration of these two companies put a focus on the 65+ market, and is working toward creating a future of more convenient and innovative ways to assist older adults’ health needs.

Bill Yates, the CMO of GreatCall is looking forward to the partnership with Rite Aid. "Today's older adults are redefining the way we age, and GreatCall's mission is to provide them with usable solutions to keep them thriving," Yates explained in a statement. "Through Rite Aid, a company that shares our mission, we are bringing this vision to life. This is a critical step in a broader active aging strategy."
