Aramark Opens Healthcare Technology & Innovation Center

Advances in medical imaging technology has made it possible to view the human body with greater precision than ever before. Using these different technologies healthcare providers are able to detect different conditions much earlier in order to improve the prognosis of patients diagnosed with cancer, heart disease and many other conditions. In order to use these equipment effectively hospitals and other facilities have to train their personnel to ensure accurate performance and long life of the product. Aramark has opened a new state-of-the-art 105,000 square foot Healthcare Technology & Innovation Center in Charlotte, North Carolina to give healthcare facilities the tools they need to manage their clinical equipment assets.

As the largest independent provider of diagnostic and imaging services in North America, Aramark will be able to use all of its resources to provide a wide range of solutions under one roof.

The company is looking to position itself as the go to source for effective clinical equipment management solutions with better research and development expertise, centralized training and engineering capabilities while at the same time integrating its clinical equipment parts sourcing organization.

The new facility will employ 140 people and simulated patient care suites with more than 32 active magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scan, catheterization laboratory and x-ray systems. This will give the company the ability to deliver hands-on technical training and quality assurance testing to ensure the functionality of new systems by different vendors so they can be introduced quickly into the marketplace. This will give healthcare organizations access to the latest technology knowing it has been thoroughly tested.

The new Aramark center will also feature:

Greater ability to keep pace with technical advancement and train on specific systems in Aramark’s customer hospitals, regardless of the equipment manufacturer.

The integration of its wholly owned ReMedPar organization, a leading provider of diagnostic and imaging parts and components.

Testing and software engineers that drive research and development to enhance its diagnostic and repair capabilities on complex electronic systems.

Improved remote monitoring capabilities that enable engineers at the Center to digitally interface with specific equipment located within the company’s client locations to troubleshoot and correct issues in real time, often before the hospital realizes a problem.

“Innovation is a vital cultural and competitive strength across Aramark and we are focused on fostering an environment of dreaming and doing among our engineers and technicians,” said Victor Crawford, COO of Aramark’s Healthcare Sector. “The Aramark Technology & Innovation Center brings together all of our subject matter expertise – from supply chain to research and development to bolster our capabilities to plan and manage customized programs that optimize our hospital partners’ investment in clinical equipment assets.”
