Synerscan Technologies Renamed Nobl as Nursing Technology Improves Patient Care in Hospitals

Synerscan Technologies, a health technology startup based in Lincoln, Neb., has been renamed Nobl. The move was explained in response to negative public feelings about recent healthcare system and insurance changes. Currently, the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) remains a controversy.

Nobl CEO Brett Byman said the word “noble” fits better with the company’s basic mission. "A lot of people get a sour taste in their mouth when hearing the term 'health care reform,' because all they see is what makes headlines in the news," Byman said in a company statement. "They don't see the effort being made to improve quality of care, promote transparency and ensure the safety of patients all over the country. We see this effort as incredibly noble, and is why we are so passionate about the industry as a whole."

Nobl provides software for nurses' which is used in hospital rounds. The software improves patient satisfaction and efficiency.

In October, angel investors provided the company with $200,000 and the company moved into new offices. In the last year, Nobl developed and tested new software, too, which aims to improve hospital patient satisfaction. Nobl additionally filed a patent application for proprietary software.

The company has expanded by adding a sales rep targeting the East Coast of the United States. More employees are likely to be added soon, according to a report from the Lincoln Journal-Star newspaper.

When explaining the benefits of the Vigilance solution, Nobl explains in an online statement that a “team approach to rounding allows the hospital to utilize all staff.” Because nurses are busy, they can “lose track of time when tasked with multiple patients.”

Vigilance improves patient care and his/her perception of care. Staff becomes more accountable for rounding procedures, with nurses seeing improved performance as individual employees, as a hospital unit, and as an entire organization. By improving patient experiences, Vigilance leads to improved government reimbursement, as well. The use of Vigilance has led to increases in the hospital’s outcomes, such as for “overall rating” and “willingness to recommend.” The solution also leads to fewer call lights from patients and phone calls made by a patient’s family about patient care.
