Inovalon, a technology company that provides advanced analytics and data-driven solutions to the healthcare industry, has entered into a multi-year engagement with NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quality Systems. Under the agreement, NextGen will integrate Inovalon’s advanced healthcare data analytics with its NextGen Share interoperability platform.
NextGen Share allows healthcare providers to safely, securely, quickly and accurately exchange clinical data and provide referrals without having to leave their EHR (Electronic Health Record) system. Through this partnership with Inovalon, NextGen will be able to create interoperability that efficiently automates medical record data extraction without burdening onsite clinical resources.
To accomplish this, NextGen Share will provide Inovalon a mechanism with which structured and unstructured data can be analyzed for all participating NextGen Healthcare clients. This interoperability will ultimately enable faster value creation through the resolution of care, quality, utilization and disease status accuracy gaps.

Back in September, Inovalon was selected by Blue Cross and Blue Shield North Carolina to help identify and close gaps between current and desired states of care, quality, assessment and documentation. Around the same time, Iovalon’s Electronic Patient Assessment Solution Suite (ePASS) was selected by Walgreens to help users make the right diagnosis and treatment for various conditions.
Through its partnership with NextGen Healthcare, Inovalon is helping to address the growing need for a more efficient physician collaboration model to advance quality and risk score accuracy initiatives.
