CarePlus Nurse Call System Achieved Record Sales in 2013

The healthcare industry is viewed as being bloated and slow to adopt available technology that would make it run leaner. This criticism is valid, and as the industry inches towards the $3 trillion annual mark, healthcare is getting more expensive, making it harder for the average person to afford quality care. Introducing different sets of technologies gives healthcare facilities the means to introduce improved methodologies, which in turn makes them more efficient. The technology is necessary because the industry as a whole faces budgetary and human resources shortage. With the right sets of technology these resources can be maximized, producing better results for the organization and the patients they take care of.

The NiQ Health CarePlus system is made up of a scalable, modular control unit with embedded software integrating smartphones, paging, wireless and VoIP telephony, ward signs, large screen information boards, email, PDAs, patient entertainment terminals, duress systems and Building Management Systems (BMS). The system saw a record breaking year in sales for several component of this platform as healthcare facilities continue to increase their IT investments.

The nurse call system of this platform is the most certified nurse call system available internationally, which is critical to meet many of the compliance regulations that have been put in place. The nurse calling system the company provides allows staff to be alerted with HIPAA approved secure, fully traceable, and encrypted messaging between staff through cellular and Wi-Fi networks.

The application is available across different smart mobile devices including Apple, Samsung, Android, Blackberry, and Cisco. Additionally it can be integrated into security, fire alarm, wireless pendants, and bed mats, giving organizations complete awareness of their facility to their staff.

Implementing the CarePlus solution will improve overall operations with:

  • Better patient safety with improved care coordination
  • Better coordination of emergency resources which translates to less waiting for patients and more time with doctors and nurses
  • Improved work flow procedures
  • Less waiting for clinicians for clinical information
  • Better utilization of expensive equipment
  • Support for Quality Assurance and accreditation efforts

The global healthcare industry is facing a fundamental challenge of addressing the increasing number of patients and operational costs under tighter budgetary guidelines. While technology will not solve every problem the industry faces, making the right IT investments can go a long way in reducing the burden.

"NiQ Health’s milestone sales are a direct result of our extensive international network of partners, and our combined commitment to providing high quality life safety system installations internationally with CarePlus,” said NiQ Health CEO Andrew Rothon. “Recent CarePlus developments will ensure our future success internationally."
