Ensign Group Installs Aruba Network WLAN Across More Than 130 Locations

Aruba Networks, a provider of next-gen network access solutions, announced on Tuesday that its wireless LAN infrastructure was chosen by Ensign Services, a back office services provider to healthcare companies, to help guarantee high quality care for its clients’ patients and residents. The enhancements will grant high-speed wireless connectivity across 130 operating locations, including nursing homes, hospice companies, home health businesses and urgent care clinics in 11 states.

“We appreciate Aruba’s focus on wireless technology, the company’s dedication to providing top-notch technical support and assistance and its excellent price/performance, as compared to the other vendors we reviewed,” Ryan Rushton, director of IT for Ensign Services, said in a statement. “Aruba sales engineers spent countless hours with us after our purchase, helping us correctly architect and configure our network, ensuring the most reliable and secure wireless deployment possible to meet our needs.”

Ensign selected Aruba after a careful evaluation of the nation’s leading network access solutions companies, including Aerohive and Cisco. The company uses two separate networks so patients can have access whenever they wish while employees have their own access, preventing interruption from their work. This in turn has led to a vast increase in productivity for Ensign Employees to handle a vast amount of data smoothly.

“The overall experience of our clients’ patients has been greatly enhanced,” continued Rushton. “With the Wi-Fi network, patients can stay connected with family and friends – who can also access the network when they visit – and they have access to gaming systems like Wii. The WLAN has become a critical part of everyday operations for employees and patients/residents alike.”

Based in Sunnyvale, Calif., Aruba Networks is a leading provider of next-generation network access solutions for the mobile enterprise. The company’s Mobile Virtual Enterprise (MOVE) architecture unifies wired and wireless network infrastructure into one seamless access solution for corporate headquarters, mobile business professionals, remote workers and guests.
