MedicPen, M2M DataSmart Working Together on New Healthcare Management Systems

Machine to machine (M2M) technology doesn't show up often in the field of healthcare, as the two fields are widely regarded as being separate entities. But the same field that allows trucking companies to easily find a missing shipment is also posing some interesting new ideas in the field of healthcare—ideas that MedicPen and M2M DataSmart are looking to bring to life together. What the two companies reportedly have in mind, meanwhile, may offer some new hope for keeping costs down and service up in the North American healthcare market.

The solutions that MedicPen and M2M DataSmart have in mind begin with a concept of those same tracking solutions that freight companies often use—at least, a version of same—except this time applied to the field of medication delivery, operating over a secure, cellular-based technology that allows for easy, wireless tracking of where medications go and when said medications get there. Patients get the correct doses of medications at the correct times, and since all pill ejections are traced, it allows for easy confirmation that the medications that should be taken have been taken, improving the overall service and the patient's recovery time as well.

Naturally, such a concept depends on a sound wireless infrastructure, and that's the kind of thing that M2M DataSmart can do in no uncertain terms, offering up not only wireless connectivity but also a service pipeline platform that can reliably handle large amounts of data at high speeds, making it a very competitive option as well. Thanks to M2M DataSmart's technical expertise, MedicPen has just the kind of support it needs to get the new services rolled out throughout the North American market, where MedicPen is looking to launch its new product.

M2M DataSmart's part in this project, meanwhile, has a lot of implications for other fields down the line. M2M DataSmart is out to make M2M a lot easier for companies to put in play, not just in the fields in which it's currently found, but also—as was the case with MedicPen—in those fields that may not previously have considered the advantages associated with M2M. The more that companies like M2M DataSmart can do to make it simpler and more cost-effective to work with, the more companies—again, like MedicPen—will discover that M2M can be a valuable part of a current operation too.

It's a smart idea all the way around; not only does MedicPen get an impressive new service that helps healthcare contain costs, improve efficiency and improve performance all in one shot, but M2M DataSmart also gets a chance to show off its own range of skills and give other businesses a chance to get in on the action, thus broadening its own pool of potential sales candidates.

This is the kind of thing that may well start some very exciting new possibilities down the field, as M2M becomes part of not only healthcare, but potentially, other enterprises as well.
