Wipro Offers Innovative Healthcare Solutions for Remote Fetal Monitoring, Cardiac Care in Collaboration with Microsoft

Remote monitoring is a relatively new technology that the healthcare industry is looking forward to implementing into their overall operations. This solution gives healthcare facilities the ability to monitor patients remotely and intervene in cases of emergencies. Another benefit it provides  is extreme cost- effectiveness that is sorely lacking in the healthcare industry.

Recently, Wipro Technologies, an information technology, consulting and outsourcing business, revealed it has launched the Wipro AssuredHealth platform in partnership with Microsoft. AssureHealth. The offering is designed to provide healthcare providers with the ability to deliver alternative and innovative solutions for remote cardiac care and fetal monitoring.

By using Microsoft’s cloud, mobility and analytics solutions AssureHealth will be able to give healthcare providers the tools they need to monitor patients on a continual basis with great accuracy. Wipro will employ hosted services, mobile apps and other technology to bring together the medical devices used to monitor the patient’s with an IT infrastructure providing a scalable solution with 24/7 customer support. A key component in remote monitoring is a platform that is able to stay online with minimal downtime and by using the Microsoft cloud solutions, AssureHealth will be able provide this critical service with reliability.

In addition, the cardiac and fetal monitoring platform gives healthcare providers a working solution to a problem hospital and other healthcare facilities are facing around the world.

The AssureHealth cardiac solution has a software platform that delivers continuous ECG data. This lets cardiologist monitor and manage different heart conditions using their smartphone, tablet or other mobile device so they can gain immediate notification in case of an emergency. This type of monitoring eliminates unnecessary office visits which end up costing the patient and the healthcare providers large amounts of money every year.

“Today, medical services are striving towards using resources effectively to deliver patient satisfaction. In view of this, mobility-assisted medical technology will be pivotal in saving time, improving productivity and increasing convenience for physicians and the patients, thus improving patient care while cutting down costs,” said T. K. Padmanabha, chief technology officer, Wipro Infotech, India and Middle East Business of Wipro.

Combining the services of Wipro and the proven technology of Microsoft is providing a service that will eventually become standard across the globe. While the initial impetus for this type of technology might have been as a cost saving measure, eventually it will be used as a collaborative tool to seek the expert opinions of physicians in order to solve challenging health-related issues.
