CodeWizard from AlphaII is a software development kit (SDK) around which all the Alpha II solutions have been built. It is also available to the company’s provider partners to incorporate into their own applications. The company’s partners can better serve their customers by improving their applications instead of spending time performing regulatory and coding research and development by incorporating the Alpha II CodeWizard SDK. Recently, the company announced that iMed Software of Lafayette, La. has selected the CodeWizard software for accurate coding and compliance purposes.
Alpha II’s technology has been combined with iMedEMR to produce evaluation and management (E&M) codes to provide a more decisive calculation based on history, exam and medical decision, making information obtained from medical records. In a bid to offer more efficient coding assistance to its customer base, the company has deployed the E&M technology into the client-server version and its latest web-based platform, the company stated in a press release.
“As our customers combat the increasing compliance requirements inherent in today’s healthcare landscape, proper coding has become more critical than ever, especially as part of the transition to electronic health records,” says Steve Hunt, director of business development for iMed Software. “We sought to fill a real need of our customers and are very excited to partner with Alpha II to bring them stronger coding assistance through easy-to-use, integrated tools.”
Recently, the company entered into a contract with Data Media Associates of Alpharetta, Ga. The company stated that the print and mail outsourcing company for medical billing offices will provide Alpha II's ClaimStaker product as a fully supported claim-scrubbing product component for its customers. Using Alpha II's medical necessity and coding edits database, the partnership will let Data Media Associates' users to verify both professional and institutional claims from the payer's perspective.
