Provider of registries for Life Science and Translational research, Remedy Informatics recently announced it has been named a "Cool Vendor" in the Life Sciences for this year by Gartner Inc., a technology research company.
Remedy received mention in two other important Gartner research reports: "Convergence of Healthcare Information Creates Opportunities for Life Sciences" and "Translational Medicine Still Has Barriers for Connecting Life Science and Healthcare Environments."
Gartner's "Cool Vendors" in Life Sciences, 2012 report, issued April 27, 2012, names and examines five innovative technology vendors in the life sciences, in how they provide tools that permit insight-driven approaches applying data and managing several key leverage points in life sciences.
In this case, Remedy's technology is recognized as being innovative, impactful and intriguing.
The Convergence of Health Information report that Remedy was also mentioned in outlines how recent changes in technology are changing the way healthcare is delivered, which is in turn creating "immense sources of digital data."
Gartner recommends that participants in the healthcare ecosystem address this big data issue by way of "policy and access considerations and analytics tools for extracting value." Specifically, Gartner singles out patient registries as an example of a technology solution which addresses this big data issue.
In Gartner's Translational Medicine Still has Barriers report, the research company outlines the practical technical challenges which currently limit translational medicine advancement. It goes on to say that effectively managing collaboration among researchers will be very important going forward. The report mentions Remedy as an example of a vendor that enables "extending disease databases across partners and teams can help align and glean data between internal datasets and drug registries."
"We are thrilled with the way that leading institutions across the life science research landscape have embraced registries as key part of their efforts to improve the effectiveness of their research during the past year,” said Gary Kennedy, Founder and CEO at Remedy Informatics. “For years we have seen the data management challenges faced by life science researchers and have invested heavily in developing registry technology that would enable them to aggregate, harmonize and analyze their data much more effectively and efficiently so that these researchers can significantly accelerate the pace of new discoveries."
Other "Cool Vendor" categories include Application Performance Monitoring, Cloud Services Brokerages and Platforms as a Service, among others.
